Fans of horror might argue that Outlast and Amnesia are the horror game genreвЂ™s top dogs, but IвЂ™m here to argue why Amnesia does it better, and by quite a margin. Having played both titles, I can guarantee that both are more than sufficiently spooky, but Outlast just fails to reach the horrifying heights of Amnesia. This isnвЂ™t a game trying to be cinematic: itвЂ™s a game trying to scare you in a way only interactive media can. ItвЂ™s got atmosphere, itвЂ™s got tension, but where it really shines are its jump scares. Lights out and sound up, Outlast is probably the most frightening gaming experience IвЂ™ve ever had. The reporter goes there to investigate, but when he arrives he realizes that all hell has broken loose already. Outlast tells the story of a reporter who gets a tip from an anonymous informant that something fishy is going on at a mountain asylum. Watch the gameplay and uвЂ™ll know what I am talking about. If you want to enjoy the game go deep into it, and youвЂ™ll find a masterpiece in Outlast 2. Outlast 2 is very different from any of the game most people would have ever played.
